Salvation... Freely Given
Salvation is not
a mystery or some great hidden thing. Infact, it should be as much a part
of our everyday life as eating and breathing. Unfortunately, many people
are bound up by the thought of unattainable perfection. Guess what, we
are all going to fail. The wonderful thing about salvation through Jesus
Christ is, all you have to do is accept the free gift. "And it
SHALL come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord
shall be saved." (Acts 2:21) God understands that perfection
is not an easy thing for humans. This is why he sent his son. No longer
are we bound by our sins and failures forever... Christ paid the price
and we are now saved by GRACE! "For the Grace of God that bringeth
salvation hath appeared to all men" (Titus 2:11) This means
that, even when we fail, God is forgiving and still will love us and offer
his hand to help us out of our failures. "But the salvation of
the righteous is of the Lord: He is their strength in the time of trouble"
(Psalms 37:39). What a wonderful thing to know. We are not to
beat ourselves for sin, but rather recognize the problem, the solution,
and through Gods strength and grace, walk in victory. "The Lord
is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but
is longsuffering to usward, not willing that any should perish, but that
all should come to repentance." (II Peter 3:9)
The solution
is Jesus Christ. Freely given to all who will accept his gift... The gift
of salvation.
"For by grace
are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the Gift
of God" (Ephesians 2:8)
"But as it is
written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, Neither have entered into the
heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.
But God hath revealed unto us by His Spirit, for the Spirit searcheth
all things, yea the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things
of a man save the spirit of man which is in him, even so, the things of
God koweth no man but the Spirit of God. Now we have received not the
spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God, that we might know
the things that are freely given to us of God." (I Corinthians 2:9-12)
